Mosquito Spraying Set for Wednesday for Parts of Winnetka, Glencoe

The North Shore Mosquito Abatement District will be doing targeted adult mosquito control operations Wednesday throughout various north suburban communities, including Winnetka and Glencoe.

Crews will be spraying the designated areas from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m., weather permitting. These operations are to reduce the mosquito population and curb diseases and other illnesses the insects carry.

Recently, mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus were found in Glenview, Evanston and Skokie. The infected mosquitoes in Glenview, which were collected May 25, were the first to be found in northern Illinois this year.
