NY Woman Gets 7 to 21 Years for Hit-and-Run Death of Winnetka Woman
Carol Boeck had been drunk at the time of the 2014 accident, police said.

A New York woman has been sentenced to seven to 21 years in prison for the 2014 drunk-driving, hit-and-run deaths of a 21-year-old Winnetka woman who was studying at Bard College and her friend.
Carol Boeck, 64, of Red Hook, N.Y. pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a personal injury automobile accident last month and wept during her sentencing Tuesday, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Police say Boeck’s blood-alcohol content was nearly three times over the legal limit when her car struck 19-year-old Sarah McCausland of Winnetka and 20-year-old Evelina Brown of Seattle on Jan. 31, 2014.
