Paramedic Slapped At Bar; Soccer Goals Stolen: Blotter

WINNETKA, IL — The following information comes from the Glencoe, Winnetka and Northfield police department as a record of police activity and incidents reported to the police. Anyone arrested is innocent unless proven guilty. Criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced.
WINNETKA
INCIDENTS
THEFT
Someone stole two soccer full-sized metal goals and their nets from Nick Corwin Park, 1550 Edgewood Lane, between December 1 and March 9. The estimated loss was $4,000, police were told on March 12.

IDENTITY THEFT
A resident of Kent Road reported on March 13 that someone had used their personal information sometime between Dec. 27 and Feb. 18 to get a fraudulent driver's license, a credit card and a home equity line of credit for a loss of more than $5,000.
CAR BURGLARIES/ATTEMPTS

- Someone got into an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 900 block of Ash Street sometime between 4 p.m. on March 13 and 1:30 p.m. on March 14 and stole $8 in cash.
- Someone rummaged through an unlocked car parked in a driveway in the 500 block of Provident Avenue between 9 p.m. on March 13 and 7 a.m. on March 14, but nothing was reported missing.
- Someone broke into the a car parked at the Winnetka Ice Center between 5:05 and 5:24 p.m. on March 16 by smashing the rear passenger window to steal a purse. The combined cost of repairs and the stolen purse was estimated at more than $1,200.
THEFT
Someone stole an children's bicycle worth $100 from the backyard of a home in the 500 block of Cherry Street sometime prior to the night of March 17, police were told the following evening.

IDENTITY THEFT
Someone unsuccessfully tried to open up a Capital One credit card using the personal information of a resident of Valley Road, police were told on March 14.
THEFT
Someone stole a $40 bottle of cognac from the Binny's Beverage Depot in the 0-100 block of Green Bay Road on the morning of March 16.
ARRESTS
A 22-year-old Chicago man was arrested on March 13 at 11:27 p.m. near the intersection of Dundee Road and the Edens Expressway and charged with driving on a suspended license and ticketed for lane violation.
A 36-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 8:39 p.m. on March 16 near the intersection of Green Bay Road and Jefferson Avenue and charged with driving on a suspended license. He was also cited for a lane violation, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A 34-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 3:17 a.m. on March 18 near the intersection of Dundee and Hohlfelder roads and charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, without a valid registration. He was also issued a citation for illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver.
NORTHFIELD
ARRESTS
A 26-year-old Chicago man was arrested at 2:21 a.m. on March 14 near the intersection of Willow and Sunset Ridge roads and charged with excessive speeding after police reported he was driving 61 mph in a 30 mph zone.
A 44-year-old Wheeling man was arrested at 7:43 a.m. on March 14 near the intersection of Central Avenue and West Frontage Road and charged with driving without a valid license and cited for operating a vehicle while using an electronic device.
Brian M. Flanagan, 41, of the 1700 block of 5th Street in Coralville, Iowa turned himself in to the Northfield Police Department around 6 p.m. on March 15 in connection with a charge of violation of an order of protection.
Felicia D. Gillman, 54, of the 900 block of Valley Road, Glencoe, was arrested at 8:05 p.m. on March 16 at Stormy's Tavern and Grille in the 1700 block of Orchard Lane in Northfield and charged with battery after police were called over a drunk person refusing to leave. Police said she slapped a Northfield Fire Department paramedic attempting to provide her first aid in the face.
