St. Patrick's Day 2018: North Shore Events And Specials
Here's what's happening this St. Patrick's Day on Chicago's North Shore.

If you're not interested in venturing into Chicago's sometimes crowded, sometimes slippery streets for Saturday's St. Patrick's Day parade, there are plenty of special events and deals on the North Shore offering opportunities to celebrate Irish culture. We've compiled a collection of some of what's on offer for St. Patrick's Day in 2018 includes live music – Irish and otherwise – kid-friendly events and opportunities for education as well as the imbibing adult beverages.
St. Patrick Church, 911 S. Waukegan Rd., Lake Forest, is hosting a St. Patrick's Day themed fish fry Friday at 6 p.m. Tickets are $13,50 for adults, $7.50 for kids 6-10 and free for kids aged 5 and under.
210 Live, 210 Green Bay Road, Highwood, is hosting a St. Patrick's Day bash at 7:30 p.m. with headliner Nelson Street Revival, a roots, blues and soul "jamband supergroup." Tickets are $10.

Celtic Knot Public House, 626 Church St., Evanston, winds up a week of St. Patrick's celebrations with music Friday from John Williams and Friends followed by Tim O'Shea and Philip Crickard at 9:30 p.m. and Saturday with the Saol Academy of Irish Dance in the afternoon followed by the Public House Band performing until 6 p.m.
Cupitol Coffee & Eatery, 812 Grove St., Evanston, is offering special corned beef hash and eggs all day Saturday to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

Found Kitchen and Social House, 1631 Chicago Ave., Evanston, is holding a St. Paddy's Day all-you-can eat lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be a guest appearance from Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band and the cost is for $17 per person and $7 for kids under 10.
Johnny's Kitchen and Tap, 1750 Milwaukee Ave., Glenview, encourages guests to "Eat, drink and be Irish" for celebrations March 16 through 18 featuring live music from Andrew Blendermann on Friday and Irish Music by Bryan Harrell and Yurty Aherns on Saturday. A special corned beef and cabbage dinner is $16.95.
Max and Benny's, 461 Waukegan Rd., Northbrook, is offering holiday menu specials through Sunday, including green bagels, lime cheesecake, corned beef and cabbage and more.
Norton's Restaurant & Bar, 1905 Sheridan Rd., Highland Park, presents a St. Patrick's Day Celebration with live music and corned beef and cabbage, Irish beer and whiskey. A performance from classic rock and soul band Class of '68 begins at 9:30 p.m.
The Curragh Irish Pub & Restaurant, 1800 Tower Rd., Glenview, is holding the "ultimate" block party March 16 and 17, featuring dancing, beer, pipe bands and a "huge party tent." There are scheduled appearances from The Chancey Brothers, Mr. Blotto, Anish, Tully Irish Dancers, Katie Grennan, Pat Gaughan, Chicago Irish Band, Kashmir, 7th Heaven.
Prairie Grass Café, 601 Skokie Blvd., Northbrook, is offering St. Patrick's Day specials for brunch and dinner on Saturday. The brunch includes housemade corned beef hash with green hollandaise, while the dinner features a cornered beef and cabbage dinner along with a slive of homemade Irish soda bread.
Lake Forest Flowers, 546 N. Western Ave., Lake Forest, is holding a hands-on floral workshop for children aged 6 to 13. Participants will use green flowers, touches of gold and receive a keepsake container. Tickets are $35.
Lake Forest Library, 360 E. Deerpath Rd., Lake Forest, presents Assistant Professor Anne Barry at 2 p.m. on Saturday to offer a talk on the history of the region's Irish community called, "Railway Builders, Rogues, and Reels: The Irish in Chicago."
Leprechaun House Hunt, Kalk Park, 298 Park Ave., Glencoe, kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday. This park district event is recommended for children 2-6, who must be accompanied by an adult. Search for treasures inside little leprechaun houses. Admission is $8 for Glencoe residents, $10 for non residents.
Leprechaun Leap, Lloyd Beach, 799 Sheridan Rd., Winnetka, will feature a quick leap into Lake Michigan to combine a celebration of St. Patrick's day with a fundraiser for the Les Turner ALS Foundation. Tickets to this park district event at $32 for Winnetka residents and $42 for non-residents.
North Suburban YMCA, 2705 Techny Rd., Northbrook, is dying its pool green and inviting kids to collect leprechaun gold tokens from its depths during its annual "Dive for Gold" family swim party from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Free for members, $10 per child, $20 per family for non members.
