Village Plans Demolition of Former Post Office, Public Access Expected in Late Summer
A fence will go up around the former Post Office site as demolition moves ahead and the area is restored for public use.
WINNETKA, IL— Village officials are preparing to begin demolition activities at the former Post Office building.
The building will remain standing for several more weeks, according to the village announcement. Before demolition begins, a construction fence will go up around the site.
Once the building is demolished, the village plans to restore the property to grass. After the grass has settled, the area will be opened to the public. Based on the current construction schedule, that is expected to happen in late summer.
