Writers Theater Cancels Shows Due To COVID-19 Case
This week's performances of the play 'Dishwasher Dreams' were called off after a member of the company tested positive for the coronavirus.

GLENCOE, IL — Writers Theatre canceled several planned performances of the play "Dishwasher Dreams" in response to a positive COVID-19 case in the company.
Performances are set to resume Jan. 5 following the cancelation of Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday's shows, according to an announcement from the Glencoe-based theater.
Theater representatives said all ticket holders will be "contacted regarding options for their reservation" and may also contact the box office at 847-242-6000.

"The health and safety of our artists, staff and audience remain our highest priority," the theater's announcement said. "Thank you for your understanding and your continued support.
The run of playwright and performer Alaudin Ullah's "Dishwasher Dreams" is scheduled to continue until Jan. 16, according to the theater's website.

The Writers Theatre's announcement follows the move by the Joffrey Ballet and Goodman Theatre to cut short performances of "The Nutcracker" and "A Christmas Carol," respectively, in response to coronavirus infections within their casts.
