Bolingbrook Police Accuse Woodridge Man of Sexually Abusing Teen Girl

The alleged crimes happened two years ago, police said.

A Woodridge man was arrested Friday on allegations that he sexually abused a 13-year-old girl two years ago, Bolingbrook police said.

Roberto Garcia, 54, of the 2900 block of Jonquil Lane, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between the ages of 13 and 17, indecent solicitation of a minor and sexual exploitation of a child, according to Will County jail records.

Although the alleged crimes took place two years ago, Bolingbrook police said they were reported to an area hospital where the girl was being treated on Sept. 20. The hospital contacted the Department of Children and Family Services, which advised the girl’s parent to file a police report, police said.

Bolingbrook detectives located Garcia at his home and took him into custody Friday morning, according to police.

He was taken to the Will County jail. According to jail records, Garcia was released Saturday afternoon after posting 10 percent of a $75,000 bond.
