'National Night Out' of Fun Planned for August 5
Police cars, fire trucks and fun on tap at regional "National Night Out" event this Tuesday, Aug. 5 at Illinois Benedictine University.

Crime prevention is not solely the responsibility of the police, it requires individual members of a community working hand-in-hand with law enforcement to stand up and advocate on behalf of the safety and rights of all citizens.
To further build on this important partnership, the Benedictine University Police Department is inviting the public to attend “National Night Out” from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5 on the University’s main campus in Lisle at 5700 College Road.
National Night Out is an event held to promote crime prevention awareness, emergency preparedness, police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie. Since 1984 when the event began, it has involved more than 38 million people in 16,000 communities from all 50 states.
