Police Ask Public's Help In Locating Missing Downers Grove Teen -- UPDATED

UPDATED, Sunday - Amanda Backman, 15, was located Sunday in the Downers Grove area, as was the man she reported possibly with, Xavier Rodriguez. Amanda was reported missing Saturday morning.

“The Downers Grove Police Department wants to thank the public for their assistance in attempting to locate Amanda Backman. Amanda Backman was reported missing by her family on September 13, 2014. Amanda Backman was reported to possibly in the company of Xavier Rodriguez. Both Amanda Backman and Xavier Rodriguez have been located and are safe. No further action is required at this time,” police said in a written statement.

Original story - Downers Grove Police are searching for a missing Downers Grove teen who was last seen early Saturday morning.

Amanda Backman, 15, was last seen at 12:45 a.m. on Sept. 13. She was reported missing by her family when she was not in house in the morning. Police said she may be in the company of Xavier Rodriguez, who is also reported missing.

Backman is 5 feet 4 inches tall, 140 pounds, with black curly hair and brown eyes.
