Village Board Approves Purchase of Four New Police Squad Cars

The Village Board approved the purchase at last Thursday's meeting.

The Village Board approved a request to purchase four 2011 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptors Thursday night.

The four cars will replace four current patrol vehicles that are older high mileage squad cars.

Five replacement cars were part of the 2010-2011 budget for $123,610. The request asks to purchase three Ford Crown Victoria cars priced at $24,199 and one Ford Crown Victoria at $24,444 for a total cost of $97,041.

Municipalities are able to purchase items through the State of Illinois purchasing agreement under the current State of Illinois Joint Purchasing. This purchasing agreement guarantees that the price quoted is the lowest price available.

The cars will be in service by May 1, 2011.
