Woman Hit By Car In Woodridge Identified

Authorities have identified the woman killed by a car when she was walking on Halloween.

WOODRIDGE, IL - The woman who was killed while walking in Woodridge on Halloween has been identified. Cynthia Higgins, 45, of Woodridge was hit by a car and died after police responded to the scene at Route 53 and High Trail Drive at 7:49 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Higgins died while walking and crossing the street, Jim Hoff, a spokesman for the village of Woodridge, said Thursday. She was found in serious condition on the north side of the intersection and later was pronounced dead at Edward Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that hit her immediately pulled over and helped, police said. The Lisle-Woodridge Fire District and the DuPage County FIAT assisted at the scene.

The case remains under investigation, Hoff said.
