Ivy Tech teach people about the tech Industry (tristatehomepage.com) — In Evansville, Ivy Tech's School of Information Technology recently hosted a capture‑the‑flag style competition that let participants tackle real‑world tech problems, from bad code to suspicious emails and AI. Instructors used the event to launch their applied artificial intelligence program and help locals feel more confident using technology safely in everyday life, regardless of prior experience.
   

2. 'Patriot Pups' event brings hundreds of Golden Retrievers to Burdette Park (14news.com) — Hundreds of golden retrievers and their owners packed Evansville's Burdette Park today for the Southern Indiana Golden Retriever Club's first-ever "Patriot Pups" gathering, aimed at honoring America's 250th anniversary. Families enjoyed dog games, photo ops, and a relaxed community atmosphere, with organizers already hoping to grow the Evansville event in future years.
   

3. USI student-produced documentary wins at Victory International Film Festival (usi.edu) — A University of Southern Indiana student from Evansville has earned the Audience Award at the Victory International Film Festival for his boxing documentary, The Champ. The locally hosted festival, held each September in downtown Evansville, showcased both regional and international films, with this win marking the first time a USI student has been honored.
   

4. Castle reigns victorious at IHSAA Girls Golf Sectionals (14news.com) — High school golf fans in Evansville saw a strong showing at The Farm, where Castle captured the IHSAA girls sectional title, with Reitz second and North third, all advancing to regionals. Several local players, including standouts from Castle, Mount Vernon, Mater Dei, and Memorial, also qualified individually for the upcoming Terre Haute regional.
