Local residents or investors can bid on the property, though the sale remains subject to existing liens, taxes, and legal conditions. 
• Franklin man to serve 13 years after attack on wife (1010wcsi.com) — A Franklin man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after strangling his wife, threatening her with a gun, and causing visible injuries during a February attack. Johnson County prosecutors said his long criminal history and repeated failures on probation and work release weighed heavily in the judge's decision.
• Franklin College football falls to Butler (dailyjournal.net) — Franklin College football fans saw a tough 52-0 loss to Division I Butler, with turnovers killing early scoring chances for the Grizzlies. Still, coaches praised the team's effort, and the Grizzlies return home to Faught Stadium this Saturday to host Calvin in Division III play.
