Franklin approves $80,000 Grant for Hobson Tool & Machine expansion (mojo1029.com) — Franklin's Redevelopment Commission has approved an $80,000 grant to help Hobson Tool & Machine renovate and move into a long-vacant Industrial Drive building, supporting the company's expansion and local jobs. Instead of a traditional tax abatement, officials chose an upfront reimbursable incentive they say offers a faster return while getting the family-owned manufacturer operating in the new space sooner.

Edinburgh Town Council approves measure to restore Pixy Theater (mojo1029.com) — A Franklin College professor is helping lead a new Pixy Forever Foundation effort to buy and restore Edinburgh's historic Pixy Theater, with support from the Johnson County Community Foundation and Franklin's Historic Artcraft Theatre. If successful, the venue would host films, live performances, workshops, and rentals, creating a cultural hub that could benefit nearby Franklin residents and businesses as well.
