Indianapolis Patch Readers: Thank You For Our 1st Year Growth

Indianapolis Patch has passed the one year mark. Here's a look at how you, our readers, have helped us grow since launching in 2017.

INDIANAPOLIS, IN — It's hard to believe it's already been over a year since Indianapolis Patch launched. It's truly because of Indianapolis Patch readers that we're able to continue publishing new content each day, and we want to sincerely thank you for taking time out of your busy days to spend a few moments with Patch. We see the visiting, reading, commenting, sharing and contributions you make to Indianapolis Patch. None of these efforts are taken for granted and will always be appreciated as we continue growing.

Here's a look at how you've helped Indianapolis Patch grow over the last year.

Indianapolis Patch has recorded more than 227,000 visitors this year. That figure — compiled and verified through Google Analytics — includes readers on desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile and our app, and our visitors often access Patch on several devices over the month from near and far.

Got news tips or event details to share? I'm Rebecca Bream (Hughes), your local editor and reporter, and I want to know the type of stories and content that grab your attention. I like to say Indianapolis Patch and myself both launched into the community at the same time, as my first task as reporter and editor was to launch this area's first Patch website. As a 27 year old in a world dependent on the quickest and most convenient methods, I learned a few years out of college that Patch was the best way to get accurate news updates. Whether it's through a smart phone app, tablet or computer, you can find us on social media platforms, the app store (see below) and websites.

Patch has it all and found me when I was also looking for them back in June 2017. In 2017, I got married, moved into a new house and began my role at Patch. There was no looking back. When I'm not writing up the latest piece, I love meeting new people, chugging more coffee than I should, and visiting new places around the city. Whether it's exploring outdoors with our Siberian Husky puppy, "Bane," trying the latest (or old yet still greatest) food spots, volunteering with Best Buddies Indiana, cheering on my hometown Chicago Bears, new hometown Colts, and IU Hoosiers (shout out to the class of '13) or traveling to see friends and family on the weekends, I am still checking in as a way to keep up with our readers and our city.

Tell me what you need when it comes to our area's news, or send your tips, ideas and questions my way at rebecca.bream@patch.com.

We were able to get dozens of subscribers this spring while also highlighting an excellent local business through our newsletter subscription contest with Four Day Ray. It's our fun way of sharing Patch and a local business with the community, and thanking some lucky subscribers in return. Stay tuned for the upcoming Indianapolis Patch newsletter subscription contest.

Here's another fun fact about Patch: Did you know that Patch is among the 100 most trafficked websites in the United States? Patch ranks 91st on the most viewed websites in the country, according to Alexa. Indianapolis Patch is part of a broad network, with more than 1,200 across the United States. That's a lot of local news! Let's keep growing!
