Ames City Offices Closed For Veterans Day
Most City of Ames departments and divisions will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, in recognition of Veterans Day.

AMES, Iowa – Most City of Ames departments and divisions will be closed on Monday, Nov. 11, in recognition of Veterans Day. Additionally, the City Assessor’s office will be closed. The exceptions include:

- The Community Center, located in City Hall, will be open regular hours, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. Ames/ISU Ice Arena will be open for public skating from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Municipal Pool will open for its regular schedule of adult lap swim from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., swim lessons from 6:45 to 7:50 p.m., and adult lap swim and deep water fitness class from 8 to 9 p.m.
- CyRide buses will run a regular weekday schedule.
- The Ames Public Library, 515 Douglas Ave., will maintain regular hours. A Veterans Day program, in partnership with the Ames Patriotic Council, will be at 11 a.m. in the Farwell T. Brown Auditorium at the Library. The public is welcome at this program.
- Administrative offices at the Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Center Ave., will be closed, but the plant will be open for regular service from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Story County Clerk of Court Office and the District Associate Court, located in Ames City Hall, also will be closed.
