Ames Downtown Parking Meters To Change To 3-Hour Maximums

On-street parking meters in the Downtown area currently have maximum time limits of two and four hours.

City of Ames Public Works staff will begin changing the time limits to three-hour maximums for all on-street parking meters in the Downtown area on Wednesday, March 18. Ames City Council approved this change on Dec. 17, 2019.

On-street parking meters in the Downtown area currently have maximum time limits of two and four hours. Stalls highlighted in yellow on the map are currently two-hour maximum, and stalls highlighted in orange are four-hour maximum. With this change, all on-street parking meters in this district will have a three-hour maximum.

Rates for these stalls will remain at 50 cents per hour. Methods of payment will continue to be coin, pre-paid parking “Smart Cards,” or by using the ParkMobile app on smartphones.
