Barnes, a forward scored 17 points in Sunday's win against Creighton and another Ames High School alumnus Doug McDermott.

Barnes is called basketball's “most cerebral star since Bill Bradley,” the Atlantic Monthly dispatch “Moneyballer” reports.
Barnes said he was the kid from Iowa no one knew about, according to the article from the April edition.
“Now, in college, I’m more the business guy who plays basketball,” Barnes said.
Ames residents will be able to see Barnes back in action when the Tar Heels play the Ohio Bobcats in Saint Louis on Friday.
