Ames Lincoln Way Path Construction To Begin Monday
Work to construct a new shared use path along the north side of Lincoln Way in west Ames is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20.

Work to construct a new shared use path along the north side of Lincoln Way in west Ames is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20. The new path will be built from North Dakota Avenue west to Hartford Drive. In order to save trees along Lincoln Way, the middle section of the shared use path extension will follow Southbend Drive with pavement markings.

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatt’s Inc. to construct the path, and construction is anticipated to take one to two months. Portions of Lincoln Way will be closed at times throughout the project; however, one lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained for vehicles.
