Ames Police Blotter: Man Found Passed Out in Family Video with Drugs in his Pockets

A man was charged with public intoxication and drug possession after he was discovered passed out in the game room of Family Video on Saturday, according to criminal complaints.
Police went to check on the man about 12:05 a.m. March 23 and found Dustin Scott, 23, of Nevada, speaking slurred incoherent speech, complaints said. He didn't know where he was, smelled like an alcoholic beverage and had bloodshot watery eyes, according to complaints. He refused chemical tests and was taken to jail after being cleared by paramedics, complaints said.
Police found 7.3 grams of marijuana and about five tablets of lorazepam during the man's arrest, complaints said. Scott was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and public intoxication.

Zachary Byrnes, 23, Lincoln Way, was charged with interference with official acts – aggravated assault, public intoxication and urination in public at 1:29 a.m.
Christopher Davidson, 28, Emerald Drive, was charged with assault while displaying a weapon and assault with injury – simple assault at 2:14 a.m.
Heath Mahlow, 33, Maxwell, was charged with public intoxication at 1:35 a.m.
Jason May, 30, Dekalb, Il.; was charged with public intoxication at 1:19 a.m.
Oscar Schoenherr, 22, Ankeny, was charged with disorderly conduct at 1:58 a.m.
Dustin Scott, 23, Nevada, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a prescription drug and public intoxication at 12:05 a.m.
Olin Skinner, 22, Ankeny, was charged with disorderly conduct at 1:58 a.m.
March 24
Mandy Bieber, 29, Billy Sunday Road, was charged with fifth-degree theft – shoplifting at 12:01 a.m.
Sparkisha Davis, 34, Ontario Street, was charged with contempt of court at 3 p.m.
Abigail Jacques, 18, Grand Avenue, was charged with theft by deception – shoplifting at 4:34 a.m.
