Ames' Union Pacific to Begin Track Maintenance

Union Pacific Railroad will be performing track maintenance in the Ames area beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The railroad will start working at 600th Avenue in Nevada and move west through Ames. Maintenance crews progress at roughly two miles per day depending on weather conditions.

Union Pacific will have flaggers stationed at all crossings to protect workers as well as the general public. Drivers can expect temporary delays as the railroad moves equipment through intersections. Please exercise patience during this project and consider detours to avoid delays.
