The City of Ames has awarded the South Grand Avenue Extension project to Peterson Contractors Inc. (PCI). This project will extend South Grand Avenue to South 16th Street and has a late start date of April 6, 2020.
The City of Ames has a separate contract with Weiss Tree Service Inc., to cut the trees and stockpile them on-site prior to April 1. PCI will be responsible for removing the tree debris from the site as part of the South Grand Avenue Extension project. The Vet Med Trail will be closed for the duration of the entire project because the existing pedestrian bridge will be removed. A new pedestrian bridge will be constructed with the South Grand Avenue Extension project.
