City Of Ames 14th Street To Close Monday

The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts for this work, which is expected to be completed in one week.

Beginning Monday, Nov. 2, 14th Street will be closed to all traffic from Burnett to Duff avenues. This closure is necessary for the removal and replacement of the existing asphalt pavement surface. The City of Ames has contracted with Manatts for this work, which is expected to be completed in one week. Residents will not have access to driveways at times during the project; however, alleys will remain accessible from 13th and 15th streets.

In response to concerns regarding COVID-19, the City has instructed inspectors and the contractor to maintain a social distance of at least six feet, use gloves when necessary, and to stay home when they are sick.

All are encouraged to take note of construction activity in the area and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. Exercise caution when traveling near the construction area. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
