The woman got into his car, one newspaper reports, but the suspect allegedly drove around with the doors locked and refused to let her out.

A man is facing charges after he allegedly held his ex-girlfriend against her will during a car ride around Ames.

Kelvin Rene Navarro Aquino, 24, of Madisonville, Ky. and formerly of Ames, was charged with false imprisonment, a serious misdemeanor, according to the Ames Tribune

A police reported stated that Aquino was waiting in the parking lot of the woman's apartment building in Campustown on Saturday, the article said. The woman got into his car, but then Navarro Aquino allegedly began driving around with the doors locked and refused to let her out.

The woman was able to text a description of the car to a friend who then called police, the Tribune reported. Police stopped the car without further incident at Bloomington and Grand avenues at 2:50 p.m.

Aquino was booked into Story County Jail but was released on bond on Saturday.
