No-Charge Fall Yard Waste Day Is Saturday In Ames; Voucher Option Available For Leaves And Brush

The second No-Charge Yard Waste Day of the fall will be Saturday, Nov. 7, at GreenRU, 400 Freel Drive. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. This is the only Saturday of the fall No-Charge Yard Waste Days that brush, in addition to leaves and grass clippings, can be dropped off at no charge.

A voucher option is available for those unable to take advantage of the brush/leaf drop-off on Saturday, Nov. 7. A single-use voucher may be picked up in advance by driving through the car lane at the Resource Recovery Plant, 110 Center Ave. This voucher may be used from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 6, at 400 Freel Drive. The voucher must be redeemed at time of disposal.

Those participating in Fall No-Charge Yard Waste Days are asked to enter the site from Dayton Avenue, then west on Southeast Fifth Street, and north on Freel Drive. Drivers should exit the site north on Freel Drive to Lincoln Way.
