  • East Second Street from Duff to Center avenues
  • Des Moines Avenue from Lincoln Way to East Third Street
  • Center Avenue from Lincoln Way to East Second Street,
  • Douglas Avenue from Seventh to 10th streets, and
  • Fifth Street from Northwestern to Grand avenues.

These improvement projects will include crack and seat with asphalt overlay, pavement improvements, repair or replacement of storm and sanitary sewer, sidewalk infill, and updating the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps. Work is anticipated to begin during the 2021 construction season. The project will be funded by City funds and not as a property owner assessment project.

The construction method for crack and seat will start with a full depth saw cut along the entire curb line to isolate curb and gutter and any fixtures. The existing concrete is broken to produce hairline cracks. The road will be closed to through traffic during this process, but access will be available to businesses and residents. This process will take approximately one to two weeks. The overall projects will continue throughout the construction season.
