Shared Use Path Closed Temporarily In Ames

Path users are asked to use alternate routes, including the Skunk River Trail, during the path closure.

The shared use path along the east side of South Duff Avenue at Billy Sunday Road will be closed for approximately two weeks beginning today, March 3. This closure is necessary to allow Alliant Energy to begin a gas main relocation project in advance of the City of Ames improvements project planned at South Duff Avenue/Highway 30/Billy Sunday Road.

Path users are asked to use alternate routes, including the Skunk River Trail, during the path closure. Once the utility work is complete, the construction area will be backfilled and temporary gravel surfacing will be placed until permanent pavement can be installed.
