Three With Ames Ties - Barnes, McDermott, White - Among Nation's Elite

2010 graduate Doug McDermott, who now plays for Creighton University, was named first team All American by the Associated Press for the 2011-12 season, a Des Moines Register blog said.

Ames Native Harrison Barnes, who played with McDermott and graduated the same year and ’s Royce White were listed as honorable mentions.

McDermott has decided to stay in school, but White has announced he will enter the NBA draft and Barnes, who now plays at UNC, a decision.
