Two Lanes Of Lincoln Way To Close On Monday In Ames
The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct Inc., who has subcontracted with On-Track, to complete these improvements.

Two lanes of Lincoln Way at the intersection of Hayward Avenue will be closed beginning Monday, Oct. 26. Eastbound traffic on Lincoln Way will be shifted to head-to-head traffic on the westbound lanes from Sheldon Avenue to Welch Avenue. Also, Hayward Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Lincoln Way to Chamberlain Street. The closures and lane shift are necessary in order to complete underground utility improvements involving pavement removal and abandonment of the existing water main at the intersection.

The City of Ames has contracted with Con-Struct Inc., who has subcontracted with On-Track, to complete these improvements. The work is anticipated to take one week to complete.
In response to concerns regarding COVID-19, the City has instructed inspectors and the contractor to maintain a social distance of at least six feet, use gloves when necessary, and to stay home when they are sick. Those in the area should take note of construction activity and allow extra travel time as delays may occur. For safety reasons, please keep children and pets away from the construction zone.
