Hurricane Harvey Louisiana: 5 PM THURSDAY UPDATE — Things You Need To Know
Flood warnings remain ongoing in several parishes.

LAKE CHARLES, LA — Harvey is finally weakening as it inches farther inland, but several rivers saw moderate to major flooding, many schools still haven't reopened and officials in at least one parish advised residents to evacuate.

- Most schools will reopen Friday.
- President Donald Trump pledged $1 million of his own money to help Harvey relief efforts
- A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect for central Louisiana through this evening due to heavy rains
- Extensive flooding is expected to continue along rivers and bayous in western Louisiana into the middle of next week.
- There will be chances for afternoon showers and thunderstorms each day Friday through Wednesday.
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles said a flood warning continues for:
- West fork of the Calcasieu River at Sam Houston Jones State Park
- Calcasieu River, near Glenmora
- Calcasieu River near Oberlin
- Calcasieu River near Kinder
- Calcasieu River at Old Town Bay
- Calcasieu River, near Oakdale
- Calcasieu River near Salt Water Barrier
- Bayou Nezpique near Basile
- Mermentau River, near Mermentau
- Bayou Des Cannes, near Eunice
- Bundick Creek at Bundick Lake
- Whisky Chitto Creek near Mittie
- Small Streams in western Beauregard Parish
- Small Streams in western Vernon Parish
- Vermilion River at Lafayette, Surrey Street Gage
- Bayou Anacoco, near Rosepine
- Sabine River, near Burkeville
- Sabine River, near Bon Wier
- Sabine River, near Deweyville
- Sabine River, near Orange
- Tangipahoa River, near Robert affecting Tangipahoa Parish
- De Soto Parish
- Red River Parish
- Natchitoches Parish
- Sabine Parish
- Winn Parish
- Little River Of Louisiana, near Rochelle
- The Trinity River, near Moss Bluff
Some locations that will experience flooding include: Leesville, Merryville, Anacoco, Fields, Fort Polk, Deridder, New Llano, Hornbeck, Bivens, Burr Ferry, Bancroft, Junction, Evans, Natchitoches, Mansfield, Winnfield, Many, Coushatta, Zwolle, Logansport, Campti, Joaquin, Montgomery, Converse, Allen, Oak Grove, Pleasant Hill, Florien, Provencal, Natchez, Martin, Clarence and Goldonna.
