Southern University president search narrows to three finalists (wafb.com) — Southern University officials in Baton Rouge have narrowed their search for the next Southern University System president to three finalists, who will now interview with the Board of Supervisors. The decision will shape leadership for the system's local campuses, research priorities, and community partnerships, with Baton Rouge residents likely to feel the impact in academics, jobs, and regional outreach.
   

3. Your phone bill could go up 75 cents under East Baton Rouge 911 fee proposal (wafb.com) — East Baton Rouge Parish residents in Baton Rouge could soon pay up to 75 cents more per month on phone bills if a proposed 911 fee increase is approved. Officials say the money funds critical dispatch technology and backup centers, while a citizen advocate questions added costs.
