While the storm is making landfall near Florida, Kenner residents are still seeing gusty winds, scattered outages, and coastal surge and tropical storm warnings nearby, so you may want to prepare for brief disruptions and keep devices charged.
   

• Edna Karr runs win streak to 33 with 40-28 win over John Curtis (newsbreak.com) — High school football fans in Kenner saw a show Thursday as Edna Karr extended its winning streak to 33 games with a 40‑28 victory over John Curtis at Muss Bertolino Stadium. Big plays from quarterback Forest Johnson, runner‑QB Marlon Jones, and a ball‑hawking Karr defense turned a tight first half into a decisive District 9‑5A win.
