• Arrests report for Sept. 29, 2026. (stjohnsheriff.org) — Local residents in LaPlace are named in the latest Sept. 29 arrest report, including several people listed with LaPlace addresses facing warrants ranging from contempt of court to serious drug distribution charges. The report, released under the Public Records Act, also includes individuals from New Orleans, Kenner, and out of state wanted by various agencies. All listings avoid implying guilt beyond the charges noted.
   

• St. Charles Parish deputy, girlfriend stabbed in home (heraldguide.com) — A St. Charles Parish corrections officer and his girlfriend were stabbed inside their LaPlace home in what deputies describe as an unprovoked knife attack by the officer's brother. The couple escaped, alerted relatives, and were taken to University Medical Center in New Orleans, where they're expected to recover. Deputies arrested the suspect inside the house without further injuries.
   

• Teen sought by NOPD in carjacking case arrested after high-speed chase in LaPlace (wwltv.com) — A high-speed police chase through LaPlace ended with the arrest of a 17-year-old Harahan resident wanted in a New Orleans carjacking case and driving a vehicle reported stolen. Deputies say he sped through neighborhood streets, ran multiple stop signs, and crashed into a brick house and gas meter before trying to flee on foot. He now faces numerous local charges and remains jailed.
