1. 'New Orleans never forgets': 21st anniversary of Katrina marked with memorials (wwltv.com) — New Orleans residents gathered Saturday at the Hurricane Katrina Memorial and other sites to mark 21 years since the storm, honoring more than 1,400 Louisianans who died. City Council President JP Morrell and St. Bernard Parish leaders stressed keeping victims' stories alive, including the recent identification and reburial of Dorothy Taquino, underscoring how Katrina's impact still shapes the region's memory and identity.

2. Ye, aka Kanye West, was innovative, inscrutable, non-controversial at New Orleans show (nola.com) — Tens of thousands packed the Caesars Superdome Friday night for Ye's visually stunning, largely controversy-free concert in New Orleans. Despite his troubled recent history and local concern from Jewish leaders, the show leaned on elaborate staging, prerecorded tracks, and a career-spanning setlist that kept Ye mostly silent and masked, yet still delivered a memorable spectacle for the Dome crowd.

3. Milo Yiannopoulos Deported to UK After ICE Detention in New Orleans (complex.com) — New Orleans readers may recognize Louis Armstrong International Airport as the point where federal agents detained far-right commentator Milo Yiannopoulos before transferring him to a Louisiana holding facility and deporting him to the UK. Officials say he overstayed his visa and missed an immigration hearing, leading to a final removal order. He had been in town tied to a Kanye West show at Caesars Superdome.

The rest of the piece focuses on convention news, tributes to Tim Curry, and genre commentary, but the airport arrest ties a small slice of the story directly to the New Orleans area.
