• Jefferson Parish firefighter taken to hospital after battling 2-alarm River Ridge blaze (nola.com) — A two-alarm fire at a condominium complex on Steamship Circle in River Ridge sent one East Bank Consolidated firefighter to the hospital for heat exhaustion Wednesday afternoon. Crews extinguished the blaze within about an hour, but traffic was heavily backed up on David and Hickory drives, and officials urged River Ridge drivers to avoid the area while damage and cause are investigated.
   

• New Orleans native Chelsea Brasted shares food stories at Jefferson Parish Libraries (nola.com) — River Ridge residents can join free mahjong sessions at the River Ridge Library every second Wednesday evening, alongside a full slate of Jefferson Parish Library programs nearby. Upcoming events include author talks, music performances, ACT practice tests, genealogy meetings, and children's Spanish classes, many just a short drive from River Ridge and open to all with minimal or no registration requirements.
