Army Celebrates New Northrop Grumman Intercoms at APG

The intercoms will be sent to soldiers overseas.

Recently, Aberdeen Proving Ground announced during a ceremony that it awarded Northrop Grumman a contract to produce intercoms for soldiers overseas.

The intercom systems updated a previous generation of products sent to more than 100,000 vehicles in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a press release about the contract.

The new technology is "the most advanced vehicular intercommunications system available to meet the demanding environment encountered by our soldiers," Northrop Grumman's Kay Burch said in the release.

Benefits of the new system include that it will provide "clear, noise-free communications between crew members inside and outside the combat vehicle to dismounted users and combat net radios," the release stated.
