Annapolis Officials Warn of Coastal Flooding

A coastal flood watch is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday, so Annapolis officials expect some flooding near City Dock.

Annapolis residents are being warned to expect some flooding near City Dock through Saturday morning.

A coastal flood advisory is in effect until 6 p.m. Friday in Annapolis. Also, a coastal flood watch is in effect from 6 p.m. Friday through 6 a.m. Saturday.

The forecast calls for high tides of up to 2 feet above normal Friday afternoon and evening. Onshore winds and tides may combine to generate flooding in low areas along the shore.

The National Weather Service says there is an 80 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms tonight, dropping to a 30 percent chance of rain on Saturday, ending about 11 a.m.
