Four Pedestrians Hit By Car In Annapolis

Annapolis Police are investigating a crash that involved a vehicle and four pedestrians, two of whom were taken to a shock trauma center.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two pedestrians were taken to a local shock trauma center Saturday after a car veered off a downtown Annapolis road and drove onto a sidewalk.

Annapolis Police said in a release that officers responded Saturday to reports of a car colliding with pedestrians on Compromise Street at approximately 3:14 p.m.

Police determined that four adults had been walking on the sidewalk next to Compromise Street, near St. Mary's Street, when a car on the northbound lanes left the roadway and drove toward the pedestrians.

Two of the pedestrians were treated at the scene for minor injuries, but two others were treated at a local shock trauma center. Police have not detailed the current state of either individual.

The driver, who stayed at the scene, was not injured. Police have not stated what prompted the driver to veer off the road.
