Naval Academy Midshipmen, Employee Test Positive For Coronavirus
Military health professionals are conducting a contact investigation to determine whether any other personnel may have been in close contact

ANNAPOLIS, MD — Two U.S. Naval Academy midshipmen have tested positive for the new coronavirus in a two-day span. An Academy civilian employee also has tested positive. On March 22, the first midshipman tested positive and currently is self-quarantined at home.
On March 23, a second U.S. Naval Academy midshipman tested positive for the new coronavirus. The midshipman is currently self-isolated at home. Personnel with whom both individuals have had close contact with have been notified and are in self-quarantine.
Military health professionals are conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine whether any other personnel may have been in close contact and possibly exposed, the U.S. Naval Academy stated on its Facebook page. Depending on the results of that investigation, additional precautionary measures may be taken.

On March 19, a U.S. Navy civilian employee at the U.S. Naval Academy tested positive for the new coronavirus, the academy shared. The member also is isolated at his or her residence. State public health professionals are conducting a thorough contact investigation to determine whether any other personnel may have been exposed. Depending on the results of that investigation, additional precautionary measures may be taken.
