Holiday Tip Stuns Waitress + Charity Helps Family Of Late Veteran: MD Good News

MARYLAND — 'Tis the season of giving. Marylanders are living up to that holiday spirit.

A few secret Santas left a 3,640 percent tip for one unsuspecting waitress. A charity also plans to pay off the mortgage of a late veteran with Maryland ties.

Zebras have been loose in the Washington suburbs for months, but the remaining two finally made it back home safely. A nearby shopping center will welcome its first Black Santa Claus.

Speaking of giving, a sorority is growing potatoes for families battling food insecurity. One Maryland town is similarly generous, posting some of the highest donations per capita in the nation.

Residents can celebrate all the holiday cheer with a scoop of ice cream at the state's newest parlor.
