With no winners in four months, the Powerball jackpot has passed the $400 million mark and stands at $435 million for Saturday night's drawing. That ranks tonight's jackpot as the eighth largest prize in Powerball history.

The cash payout on Saturday, June 10, will be an estimated $273.1 million. The Multi-State Lottery Association, which administers the game, says the prize will be just $300,000 less than a jackpot won in February by an Indiana player.

Powerball drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time. The record in the game was a $1.6 billion drawing in January 2016, which was won by a group of Tennessee workers. And three months ago, on Feb. 22, a lucky player in Indiana won the $435 million Powerball jackpot, the 10th largest in the game's history.

Financial experts say that if you can get more than a 3 or 4 percent return on an investment, the lump sum is actually the best way to go in the long-term.
