Anne Arundel K9s Receive Special Protective Vests

ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, MD — Two of Anne Arundel County Police Department's finest will be better protected when on the job thanks to ballistic armor from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. K9s Bak and Bolt now are sporting bullet- and stab-protective vests sponsored by Richard Downs of Deale. They will be embroidered with the sentiment "In memory of Sweet Sierra and Suzanne Downs."

The donation to provide one protective vest for a law enforcement K9 is $950. Each vest has a value between $1,744 – $2,283 and a five-year warranty with an average weight of four to five pounds. Vested Interest in K9s Inc. is located in Massachusetts and has provided more than 3,800 U.S. made, custom-fitted vests.
