O's From The Booth 7/18: Bad Pitching, Defense, Hitting Continues in Loss to Twins

orioles struggles

I don't know what to say anymore.  I am not going to go into any detail about this game as it is just going to make me more mad as I type.

Short story, O's have 4-1 lead, Britton can not get out of the fifth, the depleted bullpen can not hold inherited runners and they lose 6-4.

The Orioles have a few issues. Lets see, they can't pitch, they can't hit, oh and we can't play defense. Hmmm, you do the math. This team is really not to blame for all of this. They are injured all over the board, the pitching staff is like a revolving door, and they have players out of position all over the field.

I don't know what to do at this point. Do we buy, do we sell, I just don't know.  I know this... I hate it. For once Oriole fans had some hope and as usual the rug is being pulled out from underneath them.

I think the Orioles should take down the statue of Babe Ruth outside the stadium. It was put up in 1996 and the Orioles have not had a winning season since 1997. The curse of the Bambino has moved south. He was a damn Yankee and Red sock anyway, hell he may have been born here but was never really a part of this organization. Put the damn statue in front of his birth house.

He may have played for the international league Orioles but they have nothing to do with us now. Yes, I have stooped to this. I don't know where else to go. I hate that statue anyway.  All it does is remind me of the Yankees and I hate them with a passion.

I know what I am saying makes no sense but my frustrations are boiling over with this team and this season. What can go wrong does go wrong for this organization.

I wish I knew the answers. I hope Dan Duquette has some idea. If the losing continues the next two weeks this team will be forgotten about again as the Ravens start training camp and Camden Yards will be a ghost town again. I hate to say that and hate to see that happen but it is the truth. The next two weeks will make or break the 2012 version of the Orioles.
