Good evening or should I say Good morning O's Fans. WOW, what a win for the Orioles. This was a great come from behind win on the road.
This was a tight game all the way through. It was a scoreless pitchers duel going into the 5th inning when the Royals jumped on top 2-0. Tommy Hunter went 7 solid innings tonight only giving up 2 earned runs. The O's got on the board in the 8th after doubles by Hardy and Markakis. The Royals added an insurance run in the bottom of the 8th off reliever Troy Patton making it 3-1 going to the top of the 9th.
Here the O's Magic begins. Wilson Betemit hits a solo shot to make it 3-2. After a Nick Johnson ground out Chris Davis singles. Ryan Flaherty pinch runs for Davis. Andino flies out and now they are down to their final out. Rookie Xavier Avery singles with two outs moving Flaherty to 2nd base. This brought J.J.Hardy to the plate. J.J singles on a line drive up the middle. Ryan Flaherty scores on a bang bang play at home plate just getting his foot passed the tag of Royals catcher Humerto Quintero. This game was tied!!!

Markakis grounded out to end the inning. Now it was the battle of the bullpens and that it was. Both pens pitched incredible over the next 5 innings.
The game remain tied until the top of the 15th inning when Mr. Jones came to the plate. Adam Jones launched a home run way over the left field wall to give the Orioles a 4-3 lead. Unbelievable. This is Adam's 12th home run of the year. He is becoming the star the O's thought he would be.

Jason Johnson, Mr. Reliable, came in to shut the door in the bottom of the 15th inning. This is the Orioles 6th consecutive road win, their longest since 2004.
This is their 5th consecutive extra inning win as well. It is amazing how players just keep stepping up on this team. The Rays had already beaten the Red Sox tonight so the O's needed to win to remain tied for first place. That they did.
What a night!!! They have to get back to the hotel and get some sleep as they have a afternoon game at 2:07 tomorrow. Brian Matusz will be on the hill for the O's facing the Royals Luke Hochevar. Lets get a quick sweep in KC in preparation for the battle with the Nats this weekend. Go O's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
