Well not so good evening O's fans. Lets just say Wei-Yen Chen did not have the kind of night he would have wanted on his T-shirt night.
The Royals Alex Gordon hit the second pitch out of the yard and they went on to score four runs in the first inning and never looked back as they beat the O's 9-2.
I kept the game on with the feeling that the O's were going to battle back as they did against the Mariners. The crowd was pumped with the major league debut of Manny Machado. I just had a feeling they were coming back but they could not muster the offense tonight.

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Adam Jones was not thrown out at second in the first inning. We would have had first-and-thurd with only one out. He was thrown out after hitting a frozen rope to the base of the wall. In this case he just hit it too hard and was thrown out at second by Alex Gordon.
On a bright note, Manny Machado got his first major league hit on a triple in his second at bat and scored his first run on a Nick Markakis sac fly one batter later.

Manny got his second hit on a infield hit in his third at bat. He is going to be an exciting player, he has that body language and the look to him. His natural talent is incredible. On another exciting note, Matt Weiters continued to scorch the baseball tonight with two more hits including his 16th home run.
The good thing about baseball is tomorrow comes quick. The O's can put this one behind them and come back tomorrow and get back in the win column. I truly think the O's need to take three-out-of-four in this series and ride the momentum into the Boston series.
They dropped a game in the standings tonight to the Yankees as they were winners today against the Tigers. On the other hand the Tigers loss drops them to 60-52 as well. The O's are tied with the Tigers for the second wild card spot. Let's hope the O's come out tomorrow and get back in the win column. Go O's
