O's From the Booth - O's Hitting, Pitching, Defense Drought Continues, Lose to Mariners 6-3

Good morning Oriole fans.  I have not posted in a week or so.  I am trying not to voice my frustrations too much but if I leave them in anymore my head is going to explode.  

We lost to  a terrible Mariners team tonight who basically fields a worse minor league line up than we hitting .197 at home.  

I don't want to hear a word tonight about pitching.  Jason Hammel threw one pitch too many as Buck Showalter made one of few mistakes this year.  He left him in too face one more batter with the bases loaded after throwing 112 pitches.  

He was facing Casper Wells who had a RBI single in his prior at bat.  He had Darren O'Day ready to go.  Hammel ends up giving up a bases clearing double giving the Mariners a 4-3 lead.  Then Buck decides to come out and take Jason out now with no chance to get a win.   Troy Patton gives up back to back blasts in the 8th and the Mariners took a 6-3 lead.  

The Orioles scored their only runs on a Chris Davis three-run home run and then they never got another hit after that.

The Orioles defense continues to kill them. Andino personally killed this team tonight.  He made a error earlier in the game on a lazy back hand causing extra pitches to be thrown. Then in the 7th drops a perfect strike from Matt Wieters on what should have been a strike em out throw em out double play. 

The Mariners went on that inning to take a 4-3 lead.  This team is just killing itself. Lets see, they are not pitching, not playing defense, and are not hitting. Can anyone figure out we are not winning.  It is pretty simple.  The Orioles had three hits tonight, three HITS!  The Orioles pitchers have this to think about. If I throw strikes will my defense catch the ball and if I give up one run will my offense score any runs at all?  

This team is missing Nick Markakis so bad!!!  Not offensively but defensively.  So many players are out of position but still these guys are Major League players, catch the ball.  

Now, the other issue.  The Orioles need to find a little league team in Seattle that may need a player and trade Mark Reynolds to them. Mark Reynolds has to be one of the worst hitters I HAVE EVER SEEN! You know he is going to strike out almost every time he comes to the plate.  I don't know how we can keep sending this guy out there everyday.  He is a poison to this line up.  

The rest of the line up is not hitting but this guy has not hit all year and always seems to come up whenever the Orioles have runners in scoring position.  Every time he comes to the plate I want to shoot out my TV.  The Orioles need to do something with him.  Either trade him for a 99th round daft pick or have him collect cans at one of the gates at Camden Yards.  Either way, get him out of the line up.  

This is so frustrating to watch.  This team has been relevant all year long and now they are just self imploding.  A lot of this due to injuries but a lot due to just  errors and not smart hitting. Even Adam Jones tonight after swinging at the first pitch in his first at bat and then in his second at bat does the same thing popping up. TAKE SOME PITCHES!Work the counts.  

This was a big game for the Orioles tonight as they have to face Felix Hernandez tomorrows night, one of the best pitchers in baseball.  He has been an Oriole killer as well in his career. Then again, who hasn't.  They need to get 2/3 in Seattle as they head to Anaheim after this and we all know they do not match up well with them.  

This team does not deserve this.  They have played too well for this.  They need to have a closed door players meeting and figure this out among each other!!!!!!!  

They have got to win at least three games on this road trip to have a 45-40 record at the break, which is very respectable.  This will also give them a chance to get Markakis back and find somewhere to dump Reynolds.  

As you can see I am just a little frustrated.  I bleed orange and black and this just kills me.  Let's get this thing turned around O's.  Lets go at least 3- 3 over the next few days and get to the break on a good note.  C'mon O's!!!!!!!!!
