O's From The Booth - O's Top Halos Behind Miguel Gonzales Major League Debut Start
O's @ Angels recap from Friday 7/6 in Anaheim.

Good evening O's fans. What a big rebound after the disappointing loss Thursday night. The Orioles got just what the doctor ordered out of Miguel Gonzales tonight in his Major League debut.
He went seven strong innings only making one mistake to Mark Trumbo that he hit about 420 feet. He was awesome!!!
The orioles played Earl Weaver baseball tonight getting their offense on a three-run home run from Steve Pearce. It gave the orioles a 3-1 lead in the fifth inning and Miguel Gonzales held that lead for them.

The O's turned it over to the bullpen in the eighth. Darren O'Day gave up a home run to Mike Trout cutting the lead to 3-2. He then gave up a triple to Tori Hunter. After a intentional walk to Albert Pujols the O's brought in Troy Patton who got Kendrys Morales to pop out. Jason Johnson came in to close it out for his 26th save getting a three-up-three-down ninth. This was a huge win for the Orioles after Thursday night's tough loss.
The Orioles have gotten two great starts from Tillman and Gonzales at the absolute perfect time. I am very satisfied with the way the Orioles handled the Matusz and Arrieta situation. It is about time guys are held accountable. Matusz and Arrieta were given ample opportunity to right the ships but they just could not do it. I am hopeful Rick Peterson can work with them the way he did Tillman and Gonzales. That remains to be seen.
As far as all of the Greinke trade rumors go, I just do not want the O's to sell the farm for a two month rental. I would not mind if we gave up a couple prospects if we had the opportunity to sign Greinke. I just do not want to give up too much for a two month patch.

It is going to be an interesting few weeks leading up to the deadline to see what happens. It is just great to be talking about this and not talking about trading away everyone because we are 20 games out. If the O's can split in Anaheim heading into the break it would be great for them.
The all star break will be good for the O's. Markakis will be back and the bull pen will get a chance to get rested and start from scratch in the second half. The O's have their top two starters going Saturday and Sunday in Hammel and Chen. How great would it be to take three-of-four. You never know with this team, you just never know. They always seem to bounce back with a big win when least expected. It reminds me so much of 1989. Why Not!!!! Go O's!!!!
