Child Pornography Prompts Arrest Of 58-Year-Old Anne Arundel County Man: Police

PASADENA, MD — State police said they recently found child pornography on an Anne Arundel County man's devices.

Troopers said they on Friday arrested the accused Pasadena resident, identified as 58-year-old Richard Ray Brewer.

Court records show that Brewer faces 11 counts of child pornography possession and one count of child pornography promote/distribute.

The Maryland State Police Computer Crimes Unit launched the investigation in January, a press release said.

Authorities said they served a search warrant at the suspect's home Friday around 5 a.m. The search included troopers from the Computer Crimes Unit and the Glen Burnie Barrack, along with representatives from Homeland Security Investigations.

Police said they found multiple child pornography files on Brewer's electronic devices during a preliminary forensic review.

The suspect turned himself in at the Glen Burnie Barrack, troopers said.

Authorities said they took Brewer to the Anne Arundel County Detention Center.

The suspect posted $25,000 bond and was released until his trial, court records said.
