Fatal Crash Claims 29-Year-Old Woman In Anne Arundel County: Police

ANNAPOLIS, MD — A fatal crash claimed a 29-year-old woman last Thursday in Annapolis, police said.

Troopers identified the victim as Shannon Rita Alan of Annapolis.

Authorities said Alan was driving on a ramp from Interstate 97 South onto U.S. Route 50 East when she left the roadway for unknown reasons and hit an embankment around 9:50 p.m.

Police don't think impairment was a factor.

Troopers said Alan, who was pronounced dead on the scene, was the only person in the 2020 Honda HR-V.

Authorities are still investigating the single-vehicle wreck.
