Man Sentenced To Decades In Prison For 2025 Shooting

Montrelle Alusine Musa, a 28-year-old Pasadena man, was sentenced to 75 years in prison with all but 25 years suspended for a 2025 shooting.

PASADENA, MD — Montrelle Alusine Musa, a 28-year-old man from Pasadena, was sentenced to decades in prison for a 2025 car theft and shooting that left a home riddled with bullets.

A release issued by the Anne Arundel County Office of the State's Attorney states Musa was sentenced to 75 years with all but 25 years suspended. He will also be on supervised probation for five years once released.

The sentencing was the culmination of a December trial that found Musa guilty of first-degree assault, firearm use in a felony crime of violence, firearm possession with a felony conviction, and firearms possession-related charges.

Musa was taken into custody last year after he was tied to a January shooting at a home on the 7800 block of Huff Court in Pasadena, as well as for an incident the following day in which he evaded police in a stolen vehicle.

The first of the two incidents unfolded Jan. 12, when police were called to the Pasadena home at 10:47 p.m. At the scene, police found "numerous" gunshot holes near a sofa where an adult and a six-year-old child were sitting.

Authorities said over 20 bullet holes were recorded.

Bullet casings retrieved from the scene later tied the case to a second incident that involved a stolen 2017 Infinity Q60. The Infinity driver, identified as Musa, was apprehended by police after a car chase and a later foot chase.

Inside the car, police found a Glock 19 handgun. An examination carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms linked Musa to both cases.

The car chase took place the day after the shooting.

"It is a miracle that no one sustained injuries in this reckless and dangerous act of violence," said Anne Colt Leitess, the state’s attorney. "A six-year-old child was nearly hit when this Defendant sprayed bullets indiscriminately toward a home."

In line with state guidelines, Musa "will have 50 years of backup time hanging over his head if he reoffends" after serving his initial 25 years in prison, Leitess said.

The sentencing is not Musa's first run-in with the police. In 2020, he was also linked to cocaine-related arrests.
